Duties / Responsibilities / Accountabilities / Deliverables:
We are recruiting a Logistics Operative for our client site based at Fort Halstead in Sevenoaks.
Shift Pattern: Monday - Thursday between 8am - 4.30pm and a 4pm finish on Fridays

Job purpose:  The post holder will provide a first class inventory and stores operation, delivering the necessary service level requirements to ensure the smooth running of a store Room/department. The stores provides materials for main site trades (Electrical, Mechanical and Building) 

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Management of day to day inventory and stock control 
  • Control all stock from goods inwards to despatch 
  • Maintain and control stock levels at agreed levels
  • To source material and tooling for all related technical jobs 
  • Processing orders and delivery of spare parts, components
  • Drive stores performance to meeting key service targets of  just-in time delivery
  • Minimal counter service response time 
  • Maximise accuracy of database to reduce stock variance and the number of stock adjustment 
  • Improved clarity of equipment specification to ensure the right parts are in stock and supplied  
  • Drive excellent inventory management practices to ensure an optimum stock level value 
  • To load and unload deliveries 
  • Develop and maintain relationship with preferred suppliers
  • Excelling in Customer Service 
  • Keeping stock levels at agreed levels
  • Reduced down time due to lack of available stock , discuss and plan materials required for projects with relevant trades supervisor
  • To book in and out of the assets stores for the client, reporting movements to named person
Person Specification:
  • Previous stores experience 
  • The stores provide materials for main site trades (Electrical, Mechanical and Building), so knowledge of these trades would be advantageous
  • Front facing customer service skills 
  • Computer literate, working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Other Factors: 
  • The store’s holds materials for all on site trades.  The Stores person will be responsible for controlling stock levels, dealing with the trades persons and preferred suppliers, ensuring the current good working relationships continues.
  • The stores person will offer a counter service to the trades persons and subcontractors, dealing with all people coming to the Stores in a professional manner. 
  • The role calls for a calm and methodical attitude towards the work and persons coming into the stores.  There will be times where the work will be pressured, this often due to urgent requests for materials.
  • The Stores person will be responsible for obtaining quotes and raising purchase orders for materials required for specific tasks and also stock items
  • The Stores person will keep the stock control systems up to date, using the systems to control stock levels and producing management reports as required.
