Duties/Responsibilities
    We are recruiting Security Reserve Officers in Reading. 
     
    Working on a rota basis covering shifts between Monday and Sunday inc some bank holidays. Typical shift patterns between 06.00 - 18.00 and 18.00 - 06.00 equating to 60 hours per week.

    Objective:

    To provide high visibility security static manned guarding at our clients properties/buildings and surrounding grounds.  To assist with the prevention of crime, loss and waste. The protection of life, property and premises.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Implement the Company’s Quality Policy and agree commitment
    • Operate within the confines of site Assignment Instructions
    • Ensure that all EMCOR policies, procedures and standards are in place and adhered to 
    • Understand the requirements of a key register and maintain strict management of client keys and access cards
    • Provide back up support to site teams including sickness, emergency and annual leave cover
    • Effective operation of patrol monitoring systems
    • Effective operation and configuration of pass systems relevant to an assignment
    • Distribution of internal mail if necessary
    • Maintain accurate records and logs of incidents and site visit logs
    • Maintain accurate site administration files
    • Timely and accurate completion of log entries and reports
    • Thorough understanding of emergency instructions
    • Provide strategic supervisory support and to proactively report any recommendations on site security operations
    • Develop and maintain relationships with all the clients and other service partners
    • Practical working knowledge of all current and applicable firefighting equipment
    • Effective day to day operation of alarm and fire systems, keeping up to date with applicable procedures and developments
    • Sound working knowledge of health and safety instructions pertaining to assigned duties
    • Dealing with communications from telephone calls and radio users in a professional manner in accordance with operating procedures
    • The ability to operate basic switchboard equipment effectively
    • Ensure strict management of access control on site
    • Able to work flexible hours varying from days to night shifts on contracted sites
Person Specification
  • A valid SIA license for security guarding
  • Be of smart appearance and of a pleasant disposition
  • A good level of interpersonal and customer relationship skills
  • An understanding of a basic Police and other Emergency Services procedures
  • Knowledge of the phonetic alphabet
  • CCTV monitoring experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • Possess basic computer and report writing skills
  • Experience of hand-held radio use
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Honest and trustworthy
  • First Aid at Work – desirable
