Duties/Responsibilities

An opportunity has arisen for a Welder's Mate to join our expanding contract based in Norfolk.

The hours of work are: 0730-1600 Mon - Fri 40 hours 1/2hour lunch

 
Job Purpose: 
 

To provide for the safe timely delivery of all work tasks in line with British Sugar work requests and projects across Wissington site. To assist with fabrication and fitting of metal components to assemble structural forms, such as frames, pipe supports, pipework, and pressure vessels.

 

Main Responsibilities: 

  • To assist with the installs or repairs to equipment such as pipes, old sheet, plate, valves and process equipment.
  • Knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques.
  • Competent in the use of flame cutting, plasma cutting, angle grinding, polishing.
  • Must be able to work well within a team. 
Person Specification
  • Person Specification:

    • During operational periods a callout system will be in place for quick response to meet process demands.
    • Shift working may be required from time to time during periods of high work
    • Own transport is essential due to the location of the site
    • Comply with all site rules and site company standards.
    • Understand and Comply with all hot work controls when undertaking hot work activities
    • PPE must be worn correctly and be in a presentable hygienic state.
    • Presentations of completed jobs to be of a high standard.
    • Always work in a safe professional manner.
    • Perform other such tasks as needed and as requested by Line Manager.
    • FLT license an advantage
