Duties/Responsibilities
We are currently recruiting for a Stores Assistant for our site in Chilton, Didcot.
Hours of Work: 37.5 hrs pw, 7.5hrs per day, 07.30am -16.00
 
Job Purpose:
 
To provide professional and effective service which encompasses managing stores,  porterage requests and pool car check duties.  To support site operational teams as and when required. 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Management of day to day inventory and stock control
  • Control all stock from goods inwards to despatch
  • Maintain and control stock levels ensuring good control of stock rotation and slow-moving stock
  • To complete pool car weekly/monthly checks & complete vehicle cleaning
  • Take delivery of stock following procedures for logging items, storing items in a safe and secure manner ensuring good housekeeping is adhered to always
  • To report any H & S hazards and near misses via EMCOR processes
  • Ensure minimum stock levels always informing PHE in good time to place replenishment stock orders
  • To ensure that client & customers are subjected to minimum disruptions whilst porterage requests are being undertaken
  • As required assess porterage jobs and complete relevant H&S risk assessments, ensuring all staff undertaking the task are appropriately briefed and aware of their responsibilities
  • Reconfiguring meeting and conference room furniture and equipment as directed
  • Act upon reasonable requests and instructions from EMCOR Management Team or Client
  •  To work reasonable overtime as and when required
Person Specification

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Previous stores experience and front facing customer service skills essential
  • Sound administrative experience including strong IT skills
  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise workloads
  •  Knowledge and good track record of Health and Safety
Other factors:  
  • Full driving license essential
  • Smart, presentable appearance
  •  Personable, approachable and able to get on with colleagues and customers at all levels
  •  Flexible, able to work with other teams
  •  Good communication skills in both verbal and written formats
