Duties/Responsibilities

EMCOR UK are offering a FT Perm role as a Project Manager working within our Site Minor Works team at GSK Stevenage. 
 
Job Purpose: 

To deliver a portfolio of complex projects both Revenue and Capital within both time and financial budgets. To consider and deliver projects inline with Global Engineering Standards and GSK SOP’s along with Emcor’s standardised documents and procedures. Actively engage and support EMCOR UK Customer Relation (CR) objectives. To plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way.

Focusing on Electrical projects ranging from emergency lighting designs to UPS replacements.
 
Principal Accountabilities:
    • To manage project costs and variations.
    • To manage the delivery of SMW projects at the GSK Stevenage site and support the overall development of the GSK Account.  Managing a portfolio of circa 30 projects a year with varying complexities and costs to be delivered whilst staying compliant and within budget.
    • To have extensive understanding of CDM regulations and duties of Principal Contractor, Designer.
    • To competently manage and deliver Risk.
    • To support the delivery of 2022 budget targets and key business metrics - safety, finance, KPI's.
    • To maintain and drive the commercial performance of the EMCOR UK GSK Stevenage SMW projects team.
    • To ensure regular engagement with ALL GSK stakeholders to ensure management information is reviewed, actioned and reported to demonstrate compliance against contract deliverables and statutory compliance.
    • To foster and develop positive interactions with GSK stakeholders, customers and preferred suppliers.
    • To support, and through personal behaviour, drive for continued improvement of working relationships with EMCORUK operational teams and support functions on the GSK account.
    • To fully scope and identify quality requirements from and on behalf of GSK and manage and monitor these throughout the project process.
    • To create and maintain project plans throughout the project lifecycle.

Person Specification

  • Foster a ‘can-do’ attitude within the team.To lead by example and to consistently display the desired EMCOR value and behaviour set.  To support, and through personal behaviour, drive for continued improvement of working relationships with EMCORUK operational teams and support functions on the GSK account.
  • Essential proven track record of 7+ years delivery of Electrically biased construction projects (preferably within Pharma).
  • CDM certificates along with a minimum SMSTS preferable IOSH / NEBOSH.
  • Competent understanding of building services and experience of FM.
  • Degree in Elec Eng preferable.
  • Advanced understanding of risk management policies and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes and equipment
  • An awareness of health and safety procedures and legislation - for running a safe construction site
  • Numerical and IT skills, including knowledge of relevant building methods and project management software to manage information and finances during the project.
