Role overview:
Job purpose
To lead a team of highly skilled electrical technicians, driving high standards in asset serviceability, facilities condition and fostering a holistic ownership ethos. Spearheading corporate conduct by consistently elevating customer service and client satisfaction. Proactively addressing and managing any behaviours that do not align with the core values of EMCOR UK, across both directly employed personnel and third-party contractors.
Duties/responsibilities/accountabilities/deliverables
- Oversee the daily operations and performance of a team of electrical technicians.
- Ensure the timely completion of tasks and optimal resource allocation to meet operational needs.
- Manage the tactical execution of the 5-year electrical maintenance plan, aligning with Critical Performance Indicators (CPIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Ensure Electrical technicians work to defined safe systems of work, policies and procedures and have the acumen to stop work when something is not right, escalate and assist in organising suitable intervention to correct the issue.
- Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance staff.
- Ensure the effective delivery of BAU electrical safety programs, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
- Responsible for Staff development, succession plan implementation and drive continuous improvement programmes.
- Ensure reactive maintenance tasks are responded to within appropriate timescales.
- Implement succession planning and talent management initiatives to support team growth and retention.
- Provides area ownership of all in scope electrical areas (HV / LV Substations, switch-rooms and apparatus).
- Carry out duties of LV and HV Authorised Person when appointed to do so.
- Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the electrical maintenance function.
- Work closely with team members to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost efficiencies, and safety enhancements.
Resource responsibilities
- Role holder will be expected to control sub-contractors to a high level of safety and quality compliance.
- Role holder will be expected to put contractors to work, issuing safety documents and ensuring safe systems of work are followed.
