Salary: £43,000 per annum

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 08.00 am - 17.00 pm

About the role

Job Purpose
 
To deliver safe, efficient, and compliant planned and reactive maintenance on HVAC systems and associated mechanical plant. The role ensures maximum availability of assets and adherence to statutory, regulatory, and client standards. Technicians are expected to work with autonomy, supporting the Team Leader and escalating issues where required.

 

What you'll do:
 
  • Work safely at all times, following RAMS, permits, and statutory regulations.
  • Take responsibility for the safe use of tools, vehicles, and plant equipment.

  • Ensure all HVAC assets and systems are compliant and operational.

  • Own the quality of your work and meet service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Apply correct isolation procedures and permit-to-work processes across systems under your control.

  • Act as an Authorised Person (AP) when required, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and operational standards.

  • Manage assigned work orders from start to finish.

  • Carry out planned maintenance and reactive repairs to manufacturer and internal standards.

  • Maintain and repair HVAC components such as control valves, actuators, dampers, coils, and air systems (FCU/VAV).

  • Identify and request spare parts, helping to maintain stock levels.

  • Support commissioning and handover of plant and equipment.

  • Assist subcontractors on-site, including hosting, escorting, and permit coordination.

  • Use electronic work order systems effectively and escalate issues when needed.

  • Keep asset data accurate and up to date in the CAFM system.

  • Provide clear updates on job progress, risks, and delays to your Team Leader, and record these in the CAFM system.

  • Step up to support your manager during short absences.

  • Suggest improvements to enhance operational efficiency

  •  Work on GxP equipment and in GxP areas, ensuring all testing meets required standards.

 
 
 
Who you'll be:
 
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a mechanical discipline.
  • Demonstrable hands-on maintenance experience in a critical environment.
  • Strong awareness of health, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Good IT skills (Word, Excel, CAFM systems).
  • Ability to build effective communication skills with peers, managers, and clients.
 
Additional information:
 
  • Occasional travel for training/business needs.
  • Act as an Authorised Person (AP) in relevant mechanical disciplines as required, ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational standards. Selection for AP responsibilities will be based on training and operational needs.
  •  Responsible for accurate data entry in CAFM systems.
  • Support subcontractor management under Team Leader guidance.
  • Ability to use company pool vehicle and equipment (where necessary)
  • Undertake occasional overtime to support business needs to maintain maximum asset uptime, whilst reducing impact to client purpose.
