Role Overview:
To manage and coordinate all on-site construction activities for MARCUS projects within an operational data centre environment. The Construction Manager will ensure safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of works, maintaining quality standards and meeting programme milestones while adhering to Clients and EMCOR UK requirements.
What you'll do:
- Manage end-to-end delivery of MARCUS (Moves, Adds, Retrofits, Changes, Upgrades, and Security) projects.
- Work with the EMCOR UK team to ensure adherence to project scope, schedule and budget
- Oversee day-to-day construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules.
- Manage trade contractors and ensure compliance with site protocols.
- Enforce EHS standards, including LOTO procedures and permit-to-work systems.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to maintain zero-harm culture.
- Monitor progress against baseline schedule and critical path.
- Implement quality assurance processes and rectify defects promptly.
- Chair weekly trade contractor meetings and monthly look-ahead sessions.
- Identify and mitigate construction risks.
- Support change management process and maintain accurate records.
- Provide weekly look-ahead reports and updates on health, safety, quality, and progress.
- Consult with work force on matters of Health Safety.
- Liaising with the customer or their representatives.
- Organising contractors during implementation ensuring compliance to project programme.
- Ensuring site is maintained to prevent unauthorised access and suitable welfare is available for use.
- Conform to safety rules and apply good engineering and safety practices.
- Demonstrable skills in dealing and working closely with internal and external customers and suppliers on complex and interrelated issues on an ongoing basis
