Role overview

Location: Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge 

Salary: £26,208 per annum + Overtime

Working Hours: The core hours will be 8 am to 4pm unless required to pick up cover shifts for wider team (shift patterns between the hours of 6 am to 2pm, 2pm to 10 pm or night cover between 10pm and 6 am)

About the role

Role Overview:
 
To work as part of the Front of House & Facilities team in the delivery of tasks to fulfil the contractual requirements. In this role, you will ensure that service delivery is maintained to SLA’s and ensure that all activities are delivered in accordance with customer expectation.
 
What you'll do:
 
  • Act as the first point of contact, answering incoming calls promptly and professionally
  • Announce callers appropriately and take accurate messages when calls cannot be transferred, ensuring all key details are recorded and passed on without delay
  • Welcome visitors and contractors, logging all details correctly and notifying the relevant staff member
  • Ensure all visitors have pre‑booked appointments and are accompanied at all times
  • Work collaboratively as part of the Front of House team to meet contractual service requirements
  • Maintain a professional, friendly, and positive presence for both internal and external customers
  • Adhere to all access, security, and visitor management procedures
  • Support meeting room bookings and room set‑ups when required
  • Provide general administrative support as needed
  • Uphold and promote the company’s reputation at all times
  • Maintain a clear desk policy and ensure the reception area remains tidy, organised, and presentable
  • Build a strong understanding of the business to enhance personal contribution and team support
  • Carry out general office duties in line with standard practice and business needs
  • Complete all required training to maintain knowledge of relevant systems and procedures
  • Manage daily inventory and stock control
  • Load and unload deliveries safely when required
  • Monitor and respond appropriately to environmental system alarms
  • Collect, scan (x‑ray), sort, and deliver internal and external post across site
  • Comply with all manual handling guidelines and risk assessments
  • Reconfigure meeting and conference room furniture and equipment as required
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks as instructed
  • Support third‑party contractors when needed
  • Carry out reasonable requests from the Front of House Supervisor, Contracts Manager, or Client
Who you'll be:
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Good communication skills
  • Smart, presentable appearance
  • Personable, approachable and able to work as part of a team
  • Previous reception experience is required
  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise
  • Good IT skills including Word, Excel and Lotus Notes
