Salary: £30,000 per annum + Overtime

Working Hours: 07:30 am to 16:30 pm Monday to Friday

About the role

Role Overview:
 

As a Porter, you’ll support office moves and facilities operations by safely handling, transporting, and setting up furniture and equipment. Working as part of a team, you’ll ensure items are protected, moved efficiently, and installed correctly while maintaining high standards of safety, organisation, and professionalism.

The role requires physical fitness, flexibility with working hours, and a proactive approach. You’ll use specialist moving equipment, follow supervisor instructions and moving plans, communicate clearly with colleagues and customers, and promptly report any issues, hazards, or damage. Please note, this position requires using a company car and therefore the successful candidate will need to hold a valid UK driving licence. 

 
What you'll do:
 
  • Load and unload furniture, and other office items from vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Wrap, pad, and protect office furniture to prevent damage during transport
  • Disassemble and reassemble furniture (desks, chairs, etc.) as needed
  • Secure items inside the truck to prevent shifting during transit
  • Follow moving plans and supervisor instructions for each job
  • Work as part of a team to complete moves on time and professionally
  • Communicate clearly with coworkers and customers
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area and vehicle
  • Use moving equipment (dollies, straps, blankets, ramps) properly
  • Follow health and safety procedures to prevent injury
  • Report any damage, hazards, or issues to the supervisor
 
 
Who you'll be:
 
  •  Remain flexible to work varied hours to meet the needs of the business
  • Demonstrate proactive and self-starter attribute
  • Be physically fit as the role will require constant walking around site and able to lift and move 15kg stock boxes 
  • Previous experience of working as a Porter within a facilities / building services environment or; 
  • Previous experience of working as a handyperson or multi skilled operative would be advantageous 
  • Travel will be required to other customer sites therefore a clean and valid UK driving licence is essential
