Role overview

Location: Aldermaston         

Salary: £28,000 + allowances + overtime

Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:45 – 16:30 (16:15 on Fridays) + 9 day fortnight

Job Purpose

A hands-on role supporting Mechanical Engineers with a range of mechanical maintenance tasks. This role would suit someone with basic mechanical knowledge and experience using hand tools.

Full training will be provided with a clear development plan to progress into a more advanced position.  

About the role

What you’ll do:

  • Assist Mechanical Engineers and Steam pipefitters with all planned and reactive tasks.
  • Ensure any repairs noticed during duties are reported to the Works Supervisor.
  • Have knowledge of petrol fuelled generators and water pumps for planned maintenance of underground services.
  • Ability to work by themselves and follow reporting procedures set out by line manager/supervisor.
  • Carry out clearing of under growth from external steam and condensate pipework across site and painting pipe supports.
  • Escorting of sub-contractors/personnel who require escorting in order to complete their activities.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and working practices are employed and that you always represent EMCOR in a professional manner.
  • Comply with any reasonable request from line manager.
 

Who you’ll be:

  • Proven experience in a technical support role.
  • Have a basic understanding of mechanical maintenance processes.
  • Strong health and safety knowledge.
  • Eligible to obtain high-level security clearance.
  • Full UK driving licence.
